Be what you are, study what you want!

On Friday, 19 April 2019, the University of Sarajevo held the event “Day/Night of University of Sarajevo Open Doors” at the National Museum of Bosnia and Herzegovina. In this way, the jubilees of two important institutions in Bosnia and Herzegovina, 70th anniversary of the University of Sarajevo and 131st anniversary of the National Museum of Bosnia and Herzegovina were celebrated.
It was our pleasure to promote this year, when we mark 70th University’s anniversary, an integrated University in Sarajevo with all the potentials, possibilities and study programs. As part of this year's event, which closed the open doors of the University month, an artistic performance was realized, by which we celebrate education and knowledge as the lifespan of all our Faculties and Academies. The choice of graduates for professional development and continuing education at our University, choosing a life course of knowledge and skills is our priority and task that we intend and realize. Therefore, we send a universal message to all young people “Be what you are, study what you want!”

The visitors were greeted by Prof. Dr. Rifat Škrijelj, Rector who reminded that the University of Sarajevo is the oldest and largest university in Bosnia and Herzegovina with about 28 000 students, many of whom today achieve excellent results. Rector Škrijelj said future students should be proud of themselves and their success, and that at the University of Sarajevo they continue to acquire and develop the knowledge and skills that would be invested in their own future and the future of the society in which they live.

This year's gathering with students, parents and pedagogic workers, was designed to support professional orientation and organized in an interesting and unconventional way. All participants had the opportunity to enjoy the rich artistic, cultural and music program created by the joint, creative ideas of the Academy of the University of Sarajevo. In addition to the unconventional cultural and artistic performance, basic information about study programs and faculties were given the opportunity to get directly with the association with the Rector, Vice-Rectors, and alumni of all groups, representatives of Faculties and Academies and students.
