“ArcheoReality” Workshop: Application of the expanded HP Reveal reality in information institutions
The workshop “ArcheoReality” was held at the UNSA Faculty of Philosophy on 26 2018 within the 10th international conference BAM 2018 European Guidelines for Cooperation of Libraries, Archives and Museums “Public Advocacy for Better Positioning of Libraries, Archives and Museums in the community.”
The augmented reality is a user-view of reality expanded by computer-generated content. This technology incorporates virtual content within the real environment, and through mobile devices and tablets enables “revival” of the immobile image in real time.
At the "ArcheoReality" workshop, the technology of expanded reality was used for the purpose of computer-generated annotation on the example of archaeological findings. Archaeological finds that served as an example were presented within the cooperation activities of the Department of Archeology and Chairs of Library Science at the UNSA and FFUNSA 2018 Open Days, entitled “Exhibition of Archeology and Library Students at the University of Sarajevo's Archeology School – ArcheoReality.” The aim of the workshop is to demonstrate the use of the free and functional application of the expanded reality of hpReveal for the purpose of visual enrichment, educational annotation and popular presentation of exhibition activities in information institutions. After attending the ArcheoReality workshop, candidates are able to use the HP Reveal extended reality application as well as Microsoft's Windows Movie Maker program for processing video formats. Candidates were aware of the different ways in which this popular technology is used in the exhibition and other activities of information institutions, focused on attracting the attention of users of the digital age information.
