THE 650TH ANNIVERSARY OF BIRTH OF A GREAT AZERBAIJAN POET SEYYID IMADEDDIN NASIMI MARKED
In the National and University Library of BiH, Sarajevo, on 14 June, a literary meeting was held to mark the 650th anniversary of birth of great Azerbaijani poet Seyid Imadeddin Nasimi. Ismet Ovčina, NUBBiH director addressed the participants, saying that this year's meetings represents the renewal of long-term cooperation and discussion of future new projects in the field of research, publishing and promotion of common cultural and historical values between the NUBIUH and Republic of Azerbaijan’s Diplomatic Corps. In addition to the Agreement on Cooperation between the National and University Library of BiH, Sarajevo and the National Library of Azerbaijan, which already has concrete and successful forms of cooperation, Director Ovčina mentioned this year's signing of the Memorandum of Cooperation between the National and University Library of BiH, Sarajevo and the Institute for Manuscripts Muhammad Fuzuli in Baku. On this occasion, addressing the present, the director of Ovčina stated that the visit of prof. dr. Akrama Bagirova was a cause for studying the manuscripts of Azerbaijani poets in Oriental languages. Thanks to the NUBBiH staff, prof. In the past period, Akram Bagirov found 28 manuscripts of Azerbaijani poets created in one of the Oriental languages. On this occasion, prof. Akram Bagirov donated to NUBBiH eight catalogs of the manuscript of the Institute Muhammad Fuzuli. The Muhammad Fuzuli Institute has a fund of 40,000 titles, of which 14,000 are manuscripts in Oriental languages. As a sign of gratitude, NUBBiH donated prof. Bagir's "Catalog of Arabic, Turkish, Persian and Bosnian Manuscript NUBBiH".
In his address, the prominent scientific associate at the Department for the translation of manuscripts and the oldest books at the Institute for Manuscripts, Muhammad Fuzuli within the National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan, Prof.Dr. Akram Bagirov thanked the initiator of the project for collecting copies of the manuscripts of Azerbaijani authors in the libraries of Bosnia and Herzegovina to the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Bosnia and Herzegovina to Professor Eldar Hasanov, Director of the National and University Library of BiH Ismet Ovcina, Director of the Gazi Husrev-bey Library Osman Lavic and the President National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan Academician Akif Alizadeh, Deputy President Academician Isa Habibbayli and Director of the Institute of Manuscripts Muhammad Fuzuli academician Taymur Karimli.
