COBISS system news presented
On 12 November 2018, within the COBISS Day the National and University Library of Bosnia and Herzegovina held a presentation of the novelties in the COBISS system (Co-operative online bibliographic system and services). Representatives of the IZUM Institute, led by director, Dr. Aleš Bošnjak, presented to BH librarians the latest segments within the system and the most significant achievements, which make this library-information system unique in the region and beyond.
Dr. Ovčina welcomed all the attendees and stressed good cooperation with the IZUM leadership. He pointed to the significance of the BH libraries and support system provided by the National and University Library of BiH through the Virtual Library of BiH related to the operation and improvement of the system. Particular pleasure was expressed for the inclusion of seven new members of the COBISS.BH system.
M.Sc. Davor Bračko presented COBISS+ in comparison with COBISS / OPAC. It is a new user interface that gives users a lot of convenience and gives a lot of useful information. All activities on inclusion of COBISS+ in BH libraries are nearly completed, and its implementation is expected soon.
Reservation and extension of loan material via mCOBISS and COBISS+ as additional value for users was presented by Mr. Sci. Dušan Stošič. mCOBISS application in BiH libraries has been in use since 2016. It is intended to use the system via android.
E-CRIS.BH, SICRIS, a bibliography was presented by Darinka Šeško. The implementation of the information system on research activities in BiH (E-CRIS.BH) started in 2008 and to date, it contains data on 2151 researchers and 85 organizations. The significance of this system for scientific-research activity of BiH was emphasized.
A special interest was shown by the exhibition, which in a very transparent way, presented the work in the COBISS system from the very beginnings.
The director of IZUM, Dr. Aleš Bošnjak, spoke about the very good cooperation between IZUM and NUBBiH so far and expressed satisfaction and praise for the good organization of COBISS days.
