"Bosnian Language and Culture" Open Lecture Held in Rijeka
As part of the initiative of the Council of the Bosniak National Minority of the City of Zagreb, which organizes discussions on the Bosnian language and culture in order to inform and motivate the citizens from Bosnia and Herzegovina about the importance of organizing the teaching of the Bosnian language as C courses in elementary and secondary schools in the Republic of Croatia, the language of the University of Sarajevo on Friday, April 13, 2018, held in Rijeka a public lecture entitled Bosnian Language and Culture. Director of the Institute dr. sc. Alen Kalajdžija spoke about the history of the Bosnian language, dr. sc. Jasmin Hodžić presented the Bosnian language in a contemporary sociolinguistic context, mr. sc. Aida Kršo spoke about the Bosnian language and standard language practice, while the writer Hadžem Hajdarević emphasized the importance of the Bosnian language for Bosniak cultural identity.
