“Japanese September” Japanese Culture Days

For the purpose of promoting cultural exchange, the Faculty of Philosophy of the University of Sarajevo, in cooperation with the Japan Embassy in BiH, organizes Japanese culture called "Japanese September", which will be held from 5 to 21 September 2018 at Faculty of Philosophy, University of Sarajevo.
H.E. Hideyuki Sakamoto, Ambassador of Japan in Bosnia and Herzegovina and Prof. Dr. Muhamed Dželilović, UNSA Faculty of Philosophy Dean, will open the event in Hall 30, Faculty of Philosophy on 5 September 2018 at 17:00; whereas calligraphy, Mr. Kihachiro Nishiura will deliver presentations on calligraphy and flowers arrangement.
During the event, the following events are planned:
- Japanese Calligraphy and Art of Flower Arrangement ('ikebana') Demonstration by guest artist from Japan (5 September 17:00 - 19:30)
- “Kids’ Day” - an open cultural event aimed at getting acquainted the youngest with Japanese culture and children's games (8 September 12:00-14:00)
- Traditional bamboo flute performance ('shakuhachi') by guest artist from Japan (11 September 18:00-20:00)
- Exhibition of 15 Bosnian artists works inspired by Japanese art - Japanesque. Exhibition Opening: 10 September 2018, at 9:00 in the Faculty of Philosophy. The exhibition will be open until 21 September 2018.
