The 6th ICTM Multipar Music Study Group Symposium
The Institute of Musicology, Music Academy in Sarajevo and the International Council for Traditional Music (ICTM) - the National Committee for Bosnia and Herzegovina organize the 6th ICTM Multipar Music Study Group Symposium. The symposium will be held from at the Music Academy in Sarajevo from 23 to 27 September 2019.
The program committee members are Ardian Ahmedaja (Austria), Ignazio Macchiarella (Italy), Jeanne Pärtlas (Estonia) and Jasmina Talam (Bosnia and Herzegovina) who have selected the works of 30 ethnomusicology and musicology experts from 14 countries to be presented at the event.
Two concerts will be performed within the symposium. The first concert, conveniently marking the beginning of the Music Academy's 2019/2020 concert season will be held in the Secondary Music School Hall (Josipa Stadlera 1/II) on 23 September 2019, at 19:00. Music Academy students will be stage the concert.
The Ensemble Etnoakademik will hold a concert in the Music Academy Hall (Avdage Šahinagića 14) on 26 September 2019 at 19:00. The Ensemble Etnoakademik nurtures and performs vocal, instrumental and vocal-instrumental secular and spiritual music traditions, rural and urban practices of all three constituent peoples of Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as minority ethnic groups. The folklore ensemble of the Association of Bosnian and Herzegovinian Associations from Sweden will be guests at the concert, who has choreographed folklore dances from Bosnia and Herzegovina in its repertoire. This folklore ensemble will be presented to the BiH public for the first time.
