UNSA Faculty of Criminalistics, Criminology and Security Studies: Realization of specialist training “Crime scene processing”

The Faculty of Criminalistics, Criminology and Security Studies, University of Sarajevo has launched another lifelong learning program. This time it is a specialist training for police officers of the Police Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Sarajevo Canton “Crime scene processing” which is conducted as an academic program of non-cyclical form of education, primarily intended for experts, professionals who perform complex tasks in criminal investigations. Targeted specialist training in this area starting from 21 December 2020 will be conducted with the employees of the Police Directorate of the Ministry of the Interior of KS, bearing in mind the importance of continuous training and special education of staff in the field of crime scene processing, all with quality investigation and investigation.
On the occasion of the beginning of the training, which due to epidemiological circumstances is conducted online, a total of 67 police officers reported to the participants, addressed the Faculty of Criminalistics, Criminology and Security Studies Dean Prof. Dr Jasmin Ahić and program manager Prof. Dr. Muamer Kavazović, and on behalf of the Police Directorate of the Ministry of the Interior KS head of the Office of the Police Commissioner Samir Kekić and Vedad Musić on behalf of the Department of Education of the Police Directorate.
Prof. Dr. Muamer Kavazović emphasized that this specialist training is an introduction to a very broad area concerning the investigation of the scene of a criminal event, and is a quality basis for raising the level of knowledge of experts who already deal with this type of work, and gives enough information to beginners. 
The Police Administration of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Sarajevo Canton pointed out that they recognized the importance and significance of external professional training of police officers through planning, organization and implementation of academic programs of specialist training at the Faculty of Criminalistics, Criminology and Security Studies, University of Sarajevo, and participation in online specialist training activities on the topic of “Crime scene processing”, and expressed the hope that this program is just one in a series of specialist trainings that will be targeted at police officers in the Sarajevo Canton by the Faculty’s academic staff.
