NUBBiH: Promotion of the publication Guide through Public Libraries of Bosnia and Herzegovina

As part of its rich publishing activities, on 5 November 2020, the National and University Library of Bosnia and Herzegovina promoted the publication Guide through Public Libraries in Bosnia and Herzegovina with the aim of presenting to the public a picture of one of the most important segments of Bosnian culture, education and science. , which has always followed society and social change, its development and participated in it, as well as the development of scientific, academic and professional thought. 
The promoters were: Dr. Ismet Ovčina, Director, M.Sc. Amra Rešidbegović and Prof. Dr. Senada Dizdar.

The Guide to Public Libraries of Bosnia and Herzegovina is a publication that presents the public libraries of Bosnia and Herzegovina with relevant data relevant to this type of library.

Director Ovčina emphasized that libraries are places that preserve cultural and intellectual heritage, and that they are visionaries of advancement, promotion of culture and education, meeting places of the past and the present.

UNSA Faculty of Philosophy professor, Dr. Senada Dizdar said that the results of this Guide in relation to other parameters of technological development on the Guide from 2006 still show some progress.

M.Sc. Amra Rešidbegović emphasized that this Guide should be viewed as an obligation not only of the National and University Library of BiH but also of the socio-political community that strives for a knowledge society. What is certain is the multiple contribution of the Guide to 2020, the development and improvement of public libraries in BiH, the information society and library activities in general.

The comprehensive and thematically comprehensive work - Guide through public libraries in Bosnia and Herzegovina was prepared by Mr. Sc. Zijada Đurđević-Alidžanović, Dr. Ismet Ovčina and Adisa Žero, senior librarian.

The promotion was held in compliance with epidemiological measures and recommendations of the competent health authorities.
