Inspiration for the Next Generation of ICT Leaders: Huawei and the Faculty of Traffic and Communications at UNSA Launch a New Chapter

On 27 May 2025, the Faculty of Traffic and Communications at the University of Sarajevo and Huawei Technologies LTD officially signed a Memorandum of Cooperation aimed at enhancing education, research, and development in the field of information and communication technologies (ICT).
On behalf of the Faculty, the Memorandum was signed by Dean Prof. Dr. Amel Kosovac, while Huawei was represented by Bao Xiao Hui, General Director for Bosnia and Herzegovina.
This partnership foresees the implementation of joint scientific-research and professional projects, specialized lectures and training for students by Huawei experts, organization of consultations, seminars, and roundtables, as well as opportunities for student internships at Huawei Technologies. The Memorandum also includes promotion of innovations, technical and technological achievements, and joint promotion and exchange of knowledge.
A special emphasis is placed on involving the Faculty in global educational initiatives implemented by Huawei worldwide, including:
- Huawei ICT Academy – a platform for developing practical knowledge in networking, security, cloud technologies, and other ICT areas,
- Huawei ICT Competition – an international student competition bringing together talents from around the world,
- Seeds for the Future – a global exchange and education program for young talents,
- Female Leadership Academy – an initiative to empower women in the ICT sector.
During the working meeting held as part of the Memorandum signing, Huawei Technologies was represented by Bao Xiao Hui, General Director for BiH, Amina Šahat, Solution Sales Manager, and Faris Tvrtković, Business Environment Manager. The Faculty of Traffic and Communications was represented by Dean Prof. Dr. Amel Kosovac, Prof. Dr. Ahmed Ahmić, Prof. Dr. Alem Čolaković, Prof. Dr. Ermin Muharemović, and Associate Prof. Dr. Muhamed Begović.
The signing of this Memorandum marks an important step toward strengthening the connection between academia and industry, opening new opportunities for students and faculty staff to actively participate in global ICT trends and initiatives.
