Cooperation Agreement between NUBBiH and “St. Kliment Ohridski” National University Library Signed

At the invitation of the Director Mr. Sc. Frymzim Dauti and with the financial support provided by CENL (the Conference of European National Librarians), Director of the National and University Library of BiH Dr. Ismet Ovčina visited the “St. Kliment Ohridski” National University Library in Skopje.

On this occasion, a cooperation agreement was signed between the two national libraries. Pursuant to the contract, the two parties agreed:

• Exchange of books, magazines, newspapers, electronic publications and other library material published in the Republic of Macedonia and Bosnia and Herzegovina in the interest of cultural heritage. The scope and selection will be agreed upon by the respective services of the two libraries.
• Exchange of professional, scientific, bibliographic and other personal publications, with updates on newly published publications.
• Interlibrary lending of library materials in accordance with the Universal Accessibility Program (UAP) as recommended by IFLA, with facilitated payment terms.
• Exchange of experts in the field of librarianship and exchange of experience in professional processes.
• Download bibliographic records, regardless of the software on which they are created.
• Joint projects; exhibitions, seminars, conservation and restoration, digitization, etc.

On this occasion, Dr. Ovčina also met with Ms. Jacqueline Galevski, NCC leader (National COBISS Center of Northern Macedonia) and a member of the international editorial board of Bosnica magazine (NUBBiH expert journal), and thanked her for her exceptional cooperation so far and expressed her wish for this activity to continue in future issues of this extremely significant library journal.
He also met with Jan Mihajlovski - Ivanov, President of the Society of Librarians of Macedonia (BZM), where he highlighted the importance and role of the work of library associations in these countries. Otherwise, Dr. Ovčina was a member of the International Program Committee and Information on the Conference of the Macedonian Library Association, October 2019.
This visit Dr. Ismet Ovčina also used for visiting a number of cultural institutions in Skopje, including a visit to the Museum of the City of Skopje, where the exhibit of the National Museum of Bosnia and Herzegovina Između dvije imperije: Bosna i Hercegovina na fotografijama Františeka Topiča 1885 – 1919, u izboru Mirsada Sijarića i Zijaha Gafića is currently staged.
