Book “Characteristics of the Voice and Methodical Approaches to Voice Development in the Function of Professional Activities” by Agota Vitkai Kučera Promoted

Today, in UNSA Rectorate’s Ceremonial Hall, the book “Characteristics of the Voice and Methodical Approaches to Voice Development in the Function of Professional Activities” by Prof. Dr. Agota Vitkai Kučera from the Academy of Arts in Novi Sad was promoted.

In addition to the author, speakers at the promotion organized on the occasion of World Voice Day (16 April) included Associate Professor Mrs. Adema Pljevljak Krehić from the Music Academy and Assistant Professor Mrs. Alma Ferović Fazlić from the Academy of Performing Arts at the University of Sarajevo, as well as voice therapist and ENT specialist Dr. Mersiha Bećirović and Dr. Ilhana Šetić-Avdagić from ENT Department at ASA Hospital in Sarajevo.

The book is intended for singers and actors, radio and TV hosts, professors and students of arts academies and medical faculties, voice researchers and scientists, as well as all individuals interested in the scientific and artistic aspects of voice training.

The promotion was organized in cooperation between the Academy of Performing Arts, the Music Academy, and the University of Sarajevo, and among the attendees were vocal pedagogues and students from these academies, teachers from the Secondary Music School in Sarajevo, students from the Faculty of Philosophy, and ENT specialists.

During the ceremony, the author, Prof. Dr. Agota Vitkai Kučera, donated one copy of her book to the Academy of Performing Arts and the Music Academy, with the intention of including them in their library collections.

Agota Vitkai Kučera is a distinguished operatic and concert singer, vocal pedagogue, and scientist. She was born in Novi Sad, where she received her musical education, including master's and doctoral studies in interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary sciences, as well as audiovisual sciences (related to performance, voice prevention, care, hygiene, and vocal technique). Throughout her career, she has performed significant roles in operas and operettas, and her artistic work also includes performing vocal music of various styles, from classical to contemporary, including collaborations with renowned musicians such as Đorđe Balašević. Besides her artistic engagement, she is dedicated to pedagogical work, teaching Voice Technique at the Academy of Arts in Novi Sad, where she is a regular professor. She has received numerous awards and recognitions for her artistic and pedagogical contributions, including awards from the University of Novi Sad and the Ministry of Culture of Serbia.

Since 2019, Bosnia and Herzegovina has joined the global map of countries that celebrate World Voice Day annually on 16 April 16. The coordinator of the World Voice Day organization for BiH is Alma Ferović Fazlić, Assistant Professor of Voice at the Academy of Performing Arts, University of Sarajevo, and the only certified EFP vocal trainer of Estill Voice Training in BiH and the region. The goal of this initiative is to organize diverse artistic and scientific events on a global level, as well as collaboration with international organizations and individuals to share news in the field of voice through science and art.

This year's campaign for World Voice Day 2025 is carried out under the slogan “Empower Your Voice,” aiming to raise awareness about the importance and health of the human voice in general.
