Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt visited the Faculty of Philosophy, University of Sarajevo
The newly appointed Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt to Bosnia and Herzegovina, H. E. Yasser Sorour visited the Faculty of Philosophy, University of Sarajevo on 20 January 2021. The Ambassador was welcomed by Doz. Dr. Amir Duranović, Vice Dean for Scientific Research, International Academic Cooperation and Publishing, Prof. Dr. Munir Drkić, Head of the Department of Oriental Philology, Prof. Dr. Amra Mulović, Head of the Department of Arabic Language and Literature and Suada Muharemović, Lecturer.
The hosts introduced Ambassador Soroura to the Faculty of Philosophy of the University of Sarajevo, its mission and goals, and the results achieved in the past 70 years of the Faculty of Philosophy. A special topic of discussion was the strengthening of international academic cooperation with Egyptian educational institutions, Arabic language training and learning programs at Egyptian universities, scholarships for Arabic students provided by the Government of the Arab Republic of Egypt and the support provided by the Egyptian Embassy to the Faculty of Philosophy in connection with the engagement of a lecturer - a native speaker of the Arabic language.
The interlocutors agree that the cooperation so far has been at a high level and that in the future it is necessary to strengthen cooperation and use active scholarship programs for the exchange of teachers and students in order to strengthen cultural ties between Bosnia and Herzegovina and Egypt.
