The 27th ANNUAL Forum of Young Legal Historians Held at the UNSA Faculty of Law
The 27th Annual Forum of Young Legal Historians was successfully implemented from 21 to 23 September 2023 at the University of Sarajevo on the subject “Meeting of Legal Cultures.”
The forum was officially opened in the National Museum of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The guests were greeted by Prof. Dr. Zinka Grbo, University of Sarajevo - Faculty of Law Dean, Prof. Dr. Rifat Škrijelj, University of Sarajevo Rector, and by senior assistant Dr. Amila Svraka Imamović on behalf of the organizational board. Guests from the diplomatic corps and prof. dr. Darja Softić-Kadenić, Minister of Justice and the administration of the Sarajevo Canton attended the event.
The working part of the conference was held in the Faculty of Law. The conference was opened by assistant professor, Dr. Ehlimana Memišević, University of Sarajevo - Faculty of Law, with the topic “Islamic Legal Culture in Transition” and Dr. Tomislav Karlović, full professor at the Faculty of Law, University of Zagreb, with topic “Roman Legal Tradition in South Eastern Europe - Evolution through the meeting of legal culture.” Other working sessions were divided through panels (meetings of legal cultures, religious law, Roman law and modern legal systems), and in the program, fifty young scientists from different countries (Austria, Belgium, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Brazil, Czech Republic, Greece, Croatia, Italy, Japan, China, Hungary, Germany, Poland, United States, Turkey, Great Britain).
The realization of the conference was supported by the Ministry of Science, Higher Education and Young Canton Sarajevo within the Support Program of Scientific Research/Artistic Straight and Research Development Projects and Programs from the Sarajevo Canton Budget for 2023.”
