UNSA Faculty of Law won first place at the 15th Regional Trial Simulation Competition before the European Court of Human Rights
From 28 May to 24 October 2021, the 15th Regional Moot Court Competition in Human Rights was held. The competition consists of a simulation of proceedings before the European Court of Human Rights and is one of the most prestigious competitions for human rights law schools in Europe, and is organized by the Swedish NGO Civil Rights Defenders. 12 law faculties from the former Yugoslavia participated in the Competition, from Ljubljana, Zagreb, Rijeka, Split, Nis, Skopje, Podgorica, Tirana, Banja Luka, Novi Sad, Mostar and Sarajevo.
The members of the UNSA Faculty of Law team the University of Sarajevo were: Emina Kukuljac, Lamija Dedagić, Anesa Karaman and Delila Islamović. The students were prepared for the competition by the assistant of the Faculty of Law, Harun Išerić.
Within the oral part of the Competition, the UNSA team won five matches against the faculties of law from Tirana, Zagreb, Ljubljana and two final matches against the Faculty of Law from Nis.
In this way, the Faculty of Law, University of Sarajevo achieved its best success in this competition. At the same time, the achieved success is the greatest ever achieved by a Bosnian Faculty of Law in this competition.
As a result of the success, the team of the Faculty of Law in Sarajevo will participate in the grand - trans-European - final, which will be held in the courtrooms of the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg. In this final, he will meet the winner of an identical competition held among the law schools of the Scandinavian countries.
