Significant success of Bosnian geographers: scientific monograph “Geography of Bosnia and Herzegovina” published

Earlier this month, the Springer Nature publishing house published the first scientific monograph that deals with a systematic explanation of the contemporary geographical reality of Bosnia and Herzegovina, “The Geography of Bosnia and Herzegovina - Geography of Bosnia and Herzegovina.”

“Geography of Bosnia and Herzegovina” is the first scientific book on the geography of our country in English, whose authors are professors at the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics, University of Sarajevo: Prof. Dr. Haris Gekić, Prof. Dr. Aida Bidžan-Gekić, Prof. Dr. Nusret Drešković and Prof. Dr. Ranko Mirić, and Prof. Dr. Peter Remenyi from the University of Pécs in Hungary.

The book is a work of historical importance not only for the science of Bosnia and Herzegovina but also for the promotion of our country around the world, because the book will certainly become a regular textbook at many universities. The publication is sponsored by the International Geographical Union (IGU).

The promotion of this important edition is planned for July 2022, at the University of Sarajevo Rectorate in the presence of representatives of the International Geographical Union and the Springer publishing house.
