The “RESPONSES THROUGH POLITICS” project supports the integration of the Western Balkans into the European Research Area

A new European project called "POLICY ANSWERS" started with the implementation on 14 April 2022, with an initial meeting in Vienna. The project will be funded through the Horizon Europe program and will last for 4 years.

RESPONSES THROUGH POLITICS supports cooperation in the field of innovation, research, education, culture, youth and sports, and through planned activities to support better integration of the Western Balkans into the European Research Area, various instruments will be implemented - from meetings at all levels of government and service delivery. information, until the launch of pilot capacity-building activities and the creation of recommendations regarding innovation policies.

The project will continue and improve the joint efforts of the European Union and the Western Balkans (WB) - Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, Montenegro, Northern Macedonia and Serbia - in the fields of cooperation in research and innovation, education, culture and sports. and with the common goal of implementing the adopted Agenda for the Progress of the WB countries in these areas. The ultimate goal is to support stability and progress in the process of strengthening the European perspective of the Western Balkans region.

The project, run by the Vienna Center for Social Innovation (ZSI), involves 14 partner institutions, including the University of Sarajevo, and is based on the rich experience and cooperation of the partners involved on similar topics in the past.

Representatives of the University of Sarajevo at the initial meeting were Prof. Dr. Maja Arslanagić-Kalajdžić, director of the Center for Research and Development and Nina Begović, head of the Service for Scientific Research.
