Ministers in the Government of Sarajevo Canton and Rector Škrijelj visited the Faculty of Dental Medicine with Clinics UNSA

Ministers in the Government of Sarajevo Canton, Prof. Dr. Aleksandra Nikolić, Minister of Science, Higher Education and Youth, Mrs. Naida Hota-Muminović, Minister of Education and Prof. Dr. Haris Vranić, Minister of Health, together with Prof. Dr. Rifat Škrijelj, University of Sarajevo Rector, visited the Faculty of Dental Medicine the Clinics, University of Sarajevo on 7 February 2022. The delegation was received by Prof. Dr. Muhamed Ajanović, Faculty of Dental Medicine with Clinics Dean and associates. On this occasion introduced the participants to current events related to the organization of work and development of the Faculty in the coming period.

Ministers in the Government of Sarajevo Canton acquainted the participants with the current circumstances in which their ministries operate, and presented a number of priorities and issues whose implementation and resolution requires active cooperation and partnership of cantonal ministries and institutions with the Faculty of Dental Medicine with Clinics. health care system of Sarajevo Canton, but also Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Since the meeting, as part of the cantonal delegation, was attended by Doz. Dr. Sc. Abel Baltić, General Director of the Sarajevo Canton Health Center (JUDZKS), agreed on activities of operational cooperation between JUDZKS and the Faculty, the basic intention of which is to combine the capacities of the two institutions in order to better and more efficiently organize dental health care in Sarajevo Canton. In this regard, Dean Ajanović pointed out the readiness of the Faculty for the continuation of cooperation, but also the increased putting of human and material-technical capacities in the function of improving the dental health of the citizens of the Sarajevo Canton.

Special attention is paid to the issue of promotion and prevention in the field of oral health of young people, and the subject of cooperation between the relevant ministry and the Faculty in the coming period will be the establishment of dental health centers at primary and secondary schools in Sarajevo Canton. In addition to the above, the priority of cooperation in the coming period will be the continuation of activities on the organization of the teaching base in this area, but also capital investments in clinical infrastructure within the Faculty of Dentistry. Dean Ajanović acquainted the attendees with the capital investments realized so far, and presented new infrastructure projects, the realization of which will affirm the Faculty of Dental Medicine with Clinics as a regional dental clinical center.

Rector  Škrijelj expressed his support for the constructive dialogue of the meeting participants and confirmed the good will and readiness of the academic community of the University of Sarajevo to support the development of the health care system in this important area, in accordance with its capacities and possibilities.
