Goran Bubalo Peace Prize awarded to the Center for Peace Education of the UNSA Faculty of Philosophy

Mirovna nagrada “Goran Bubalo” dodijeljena Centru za mirovno obrazovanje Filozofskog fakulteta UNSA

 

The Peace Education Hub of the Faculty of Philosophy, University of Sarajevo is the winner of the Goran Bubalo Peace Prize in the category of "educational institutions" for 2021, awarded by the Peacebuilding Network. Activists Nihad Suljić, Indira Bajramović and the BH Pride Parade are also this year's winners of the Peace Prize.

The Peacebuilding Network (https://www.mreza-mira.net/) was established in February 2010 with the aim of contributing to efforts to restore the quality of social and economic life in Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as to increase the long-term capacity of the entire of Bosnian society to deal with differences and conflicts constructively and non-violently. The Peace Prize has been awarded for eight years, recognizing the extraordinary efforts of individuals and educational institutions working to build peace and preserve and promote justice and human rights in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Last year's peace award is named "Goran Bubalo" in memory of the great merits and selfless work of Goran Bubalo, president of the Peacebuilding Network, and a longtime volunteer in the fight for human rights and freedoms.

The award was presented at a solemn event held on 10 December 2021, on the International Human Rights Day, when the activities and results of individuals and educational institutions working on peacebuilding are recognized and jointly supported. The award was presented in Sarajevo, at the International Center for Children and Youth.
