Towards the celebration of the “National Awareness Day of Libraries in Bosnia and Herzegovina” under the motto: “Library - a meeting place”

On 29 October 2021, the University of Sarajevo will mark the National Day of Awareness of Libraries in Bosnia and Herzegovina under the motto Library - a meeting place. The partners in holding the National Library Awareness Day in Bosnia and Herzegovina are: the University of Sarajevo, the University of Mostar and the Cantonal and University Library of Bihać. The coordinator of activities in front of the University of Sarajevo is Mr. Sc. Nadina Grebović-Lendo, director of the Library of the University of Sarajevo. The central activities of the University of Sarajevo will be organized by the Library of the University of Sarajevo through two events. The National Day at the University of Sarajevo will begin with a webinar for librarians entitled “Ideas for educational work with children and youth in the digital environment.” The lecturers at this webinar are Doz. Dr. Emina Dedić Bukvić (University of Sarajevo, Faculty of Philosophy, Department of Pedagogy) and M.Sc. Mirela Šuman. In the introductory part of the webinar, participants will have the opportunity to hear the presentation of Mr. Sc. Arijana Alispahić (JU OŠ “Sokolje”) and Ajdin Begić (JU OŠ “Ćamil Sijarić) whose work with children and youth in the digital environment left results in the form of materials that can be a good support and inspiration for new activities.2 In the afternoon, there will be a conference “The role of the university library in increasing the visibility of scientific papers”, which is conceived in two parts. The first part is reserved for the promotion of the OJS (Open Journal System) platform on which the magazine “Pregled” was published, which this year celebrates 111 years of publication, and whose publisher has been the University of Sarajevo since 1967. After the promotion, attendees will have the opportunity to see an exhibition dedicated to the publishing activities of the University of Sarajevo, which was organized by the Publishing Service of the Rectorate.

The second part of the conference is reserved for presentations on the topic of increasing the visibility of scientific papers where, in addition to professors from the University of Sarajevo: Prof. Dr. Dušanka Bošković, Prof. Dr. Senada Dizdar and Prof. Dr.  Razija Mešević, Doz. Dr. Franjo Pehar from the University of Zadar will present the Morepress project of the University of Zadar. It will be possible to follow the counseling in the online and physical space.
