Erasmus+ CBHE project “Innovating quality assessment tools for pharmacy studies in Bosnia and Herzegovina” - IQPharm started
The implementation of the Erasmus+ project CBHE - Capacity Building in the field of Higher Education called “Innovating quality assessment tools for pharmacy studies in Bosnia and Herzegovina” (IQPharm), began on 15 January 2021.
At the first online meetings held on 12 and 13 February 2021 (IQPharm Kick-Off Meeting), the project coordinator and participants officially started activities related to this extremely important project of national interest, which aims to improve the quality and modernize the study of pharmacy at public universities in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The University of Sarajevo Faculty of Pharmacy coordinates and implements the IQPharm project on behalf of the University of Sarajevo. The project plans joint cooperation of four pharmaceutical Faculties from Bosnia and Herzegovina (Universities of Sarajevo, Banja Luka, Tuzla, Mostar) with pharmaceutical Faculties in Croatia (University of Split), Serbia/University of Novi Sad) , Italy (University of Chieti-Pescara) and Ireland (University of Dublin). During the project, participants will work together to modernize teaching for pharmacy students, but also to increase the research potential of public universities in BiH that have a degree in pharmacy.
Prof. Dr. Tamer Bego, Vice Dean for International Cooperation at the Faculty of Pharmacy and IQPharm project leader, points out that the main goals of the project include the development of professional and pedagogical competencies of academic staff for a more interactive and practical approach to teaching in line with best practices and experiences of EU partners, curricula through the implementation of new models and approaches, and the active involvement of partners from the real sector. Furthermore, the aim is to improve teaching through the introduction of the Knowledge Retention Evaluation Framework (KREF) and the Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE) and the training of educators in the field of professional practice and the development of a platform for managing and administering professional practice for pharmacy students.
