Classes for University of Sarajevo Medical Sciences Group Students Begin at the General Hospital “Prim. Dr. Abdulah Nakaš”

Today on 18 November  2020, the Federal Minister of Health, Prof. Dr. Vjekoslav Mandić, with his associates, Secretary Snježana Bodnaruk and Assistant Minister for Legal Affairs and EU Integration Vedran Marčinko received the University of Sarajevo delegation, consisting of Rector, Prof. Dr. Rifat Škrijelj and Secretary General Kenan Filipović, and the General Hospital “Prim. Dr. Abdulah Nakaš” delegation, consisting of Director, Prof. Dr. Ismet Gavrankapetanović, Assistant Director for Medical Affairs Prof. Dr. Haris Vranić and the Management Board President Prim. Dr. Sead Željo.

The subject of discussion was the establishment of classes at the UNSA Medical Sciences Group Faculties and resolving the issue of teaching bases and university hospitals in the Sarajevo Canton.

The meeting took place in a very constructive discussion on open issues and expressed the unanimous commitment of the meeting participants to urgently establish classes for students of the medical group of the University of Sarajevo, and it was agreed that each participant will take concrete steps.

University of Sarajevo and General Hospital “Prim. Dr. Abdulah Nakaš ”will concretize its requests to the Federal Ministry of Health with its specific requests and amendments to the previously submitted request of the General Hospital, and the Federal Ministry of Health will speed up their resolution in order to create conditions for practical training in teaching bases in Sarajevo Canton. The University of Sarajevo has already made its decisions.

In this regard, the participants of the working meeting reached a high degree of agreement on the upcoming activities that will enable the functioning of the University and the faculty of the medical group for the benefit of all students and academic staff of the University of Sarajevo.
