The promotion of a book by Doz. dr. Đevad Šašić
On 24 September 2020, at the Faculty of Administration - an associate member of the University of Sarajevo, a promotion of a book “Public Sector Management” by Doz. Dr. Đevad Šašić ttok place. Atendees were greeted by Doz. Dr. Emir Tahirović, Faculty of Administration Dean, emphasizing that this book confirms the value of this higher education institution. “The Faculty of Administration will not stop its activities in the scientific and educational sense” said Dean Tahirović.
The promoters were Prof. Dr. Elvir Čizmić and Prof. Dr. Mehmedalija Hadzovic.
Prof. Čizmić pointed out that management in public administration is very important. He mentioned that where management is introduced in the public administration, there will be more ranks and fewer "bottlenecks".
“In public administration, we apply all modern management concepts in modern conditions. This system is called New public management, and it is the application of all the tools that the science of management generally produces in the public sector in an applicable way to make our public sector more efficient,” said Professor Čizmić.
The moderator was Doz. Dr. Amel Delić. The ceremonial promotion was also attended by guests from the academic and cultural life of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Doz. Dr. Đevad Šašić was born in 1984 in Jablanica, where he finished elementary school and high school with great success. He graduated from the Faculty of Economics at the University “Džemal Bijedić” in 2008 and acquired the title of graduate economist - manager. He obtained the title of Master of Economics at the Faculty of Economics, University of Zenica in 2014, and in 2018 he received his PhD from the Faculty of Administration, University of Sarajevo on the topic “Improving the effectiveness of local governments through the Balance ScoreCard model”. As an extremely successful student, he was the first in both a master’s and a doctorate in a generation. After working in Mercator d..o.o. Sarajevo, he established an employment relationship at the Faculty of Administration, University of Sarajevo in 2011 in the positions of assistant in the scientific field of "Theoretical Economics", senior assistant in the scientific field of “Public Sector Management”, and since February 2018 assistant professor in the scientific field, “Public Sector Management.” At the same time, he held the position of Manager of the Office for Quality at the Faculty, and since October 2019, he has been the Vice Dean for Teaching and Student Standards.
