The Second CIVITAS University Civic Education Programs Conference Held at the Faculty of Philosophy

The Civitas Educational Center for Democracy and Human Rights, in cooperation with the US Embassy and in partnership with the Faculty of Philosophy, University of Sarajevo, organized the Second Joint University Conference on Education for Active and Responsible Citizenship from 17 to 18 January 2019. The program was attended by 120 students, professors, vice deans and deans from all eight public universities in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The opening address was delivered by Allyson Algeo, Head of the Public Relations Office of the US Embassy in BiH and Doz. Dr. Amir Duranović, Vice Dean for Research, International Cooperation and Publishing, Faculty of Philosophy, University of Sarajevo.
The Second Joint University Conference considered the importance of education for active and responsible citizenship in our higher education institutions, the importance of developing the democratic climate and culture of university communities, and the responsible role of universities in promoting the universal values of democracy and human rights in the community.
