Republic of Turkey Embassy in Sarajevo Education Attaché visited the University of Sarajevo Faculty of Philosophy
On 19 September 2019, the Education Attaché at the Embassy of the Republic of Turkey in Sarajevo, Mr. Vasi Ete, visited the Faculty of Philosophy, University of Sarajevo. The meeting was hosted by Doz. Dr. Amir Duranović, Vice Dean for Research, International Academic Cooperation and Publishing. On that occasion, they discussed the results so far, as well as the possibilities of new forms of cooperation. Positive impressions were presented about the Turkish Language Summer School program for Department of Oriental Philology students, organized in July 2019 at Gaziosmanpaşa University in Tokat that was implemented in cooperation with the Education Office at the Embassy of the Republic of Turkey in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The desire to continue this project was expressed, but also to expand the field of cooperation through the inclusion of other departments of the Faculty of Philosophy, University of Sarajevo. Some of the possible forms of cooperation could be the exchange of students and faculty between the Faculty of Philosophy in Sarajevo and related universities and Faculties across the Republic of Turkey through exchange programs such as Erasmus or Mevlana. It should be followed by the promotion of scholarships programs for foreign students in Turkey with the support of the Directorate for the Turks Abroad and Related Communities (YTB) at the Republic of Turkey’s Government Presidency and the organization of an international interdisciplinary symposium at the Faculty of Philosophy, University of Sarajevo.
Education Attaché Mr. Ete expressed his readiness to support these activities, as well as to the internship project for the students of the Department of Oriental Philology, Department of Oriental Philology in Turkish institutions and companies operating in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
