The Government of the Canton of Sarajevo is investing in knowledge: The construction of the UNSA Library is entering the final phase of interior design

The construction of the new University of Sarajevo Library, one of the most important projects for the academic community in Bosnia and Herzegovina, is proceeding according to plan. With the arrival of spring and the completion of key external works on the roof and glass facade, the focus has been completely shifted to the interior design and furnishing of the building, so that this symbol of knowledge can open its doors as soon as possible.

Currently, intensive work is underway to finalize the interior spaces, including the installation of partition walls and ceilings in the administrative part, while the reading rooms are getting their final look by preparing the floors and finishing the interior. Special attention is being paid to the basement of the building, where preparations are being completed for the installation of modern, compact shelves in the depots intended for storing valuable book materials.

The entire interior space is being equipped with modern heating, cooling and digital infrastructure systems. That this is an exceptionally extensive project is also confirmed by the fact that more than 120 workers and engineers are engaged on the construction site every day, ensuring that every detail is executed according to the highest world standards.

"The University Library on the UNSA Campus is a symbol of our commitment to education, science and innovation. This project is of key importance for strengthening the academic community and will provide students and researchers from all over BiH with modern conditions for work and progress," said the Prime Minister of Sarajevo Canton Nihad Uk.

He emphasized that the Library will be equipped with specially designed depots for the preservation of rare materials, and that it is particularly important that this project is being implemented with stable dynamics after several years of stagnation.

This impressive facility, which covers more than 7,000 square meters, is the first in a series of planned projects that will transform the space of the former barracks into a modern, integrated university campus. In addition to state-of-the-art reading rooms and digital archives, the building will be fully adapted for people with disabilities, thus confirming the Sarajevo Canton Government's commitment to creating an inclusive and advanced educational environment.
