The Third International ATCT conference successfully completed

We are proud to inform you that the third international conference “International Conference on Advances in Traffic and Communication Technologies (ATCT)” entitled “AI Crossroads: Shaping the Future of Traffic and Communication”, which was held in Sarajevo on 6 and 7 June 2024 was successfully completed.

The Faculty of Traffic and Communications of the University of Sarajevo and the Sarajevo Institute of Traffic and Communications, under the auspices of the Ministry of Communications and Transport of Bosnia and Herzegovina, hosted this important event.

The opening of the conference was held in Gazi Husrev-bey's library in Sarajevo, where the opening remarks were given by the Minister of Communications and Transport of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Mr. Edin Forto, the Director of the Secretariat of the Transport Community, Mr. Matej Zakonjšek, and the Dean of the Faculty of Traffic and Communications, Prof. Dr. Amel Kosovac, while the activities of the second day took place in the premises of the Faculty of Traffic and Communications.

This International Conference brought together a large number of eminent professors, scientists and experts in the field of traffic and communications from the countries of the region and beyond. Among the key speakers and panelists were Prof. Dr Mirsad Hadžikadić - first president of the Advisory Council for Bosnia and Herzegovina in Washington and the Bosnian-Herzegovinian-American Academy of Sciences and Arts, Namik Hrle - vice president of development in IBM's software division and director of their development laboratory in Germany, and Elma Hot Dervić - postdoctoral student at Complexity Science Hub and three-time TEDx speaker.

Also, a second panel session was held entitled “The Impact of Artificial Intelligence on Business: An Industry Perspective on Challenges and Opportunities”. The participants of this panel were:

 

  • Edin Mehić – Founder of Bloomteq and leader in the technology sector, with extensive experience in entrepreneurship and managing successful projects.
  • Semir Ibrahimović – Executive Director for Information Technology at BH Telecom, with expertise in digital transformation and change management.
  • Elvir Brkić – head of the software development department at BS Telecom Solutions, with over 17 years of experience in software development, in charge of all software projects and products.
  • Kemal Keco – Chief Director of New Business Ventures at Infobip, brings a deep understanding of cloud communications and strategies for the MENA region and Bosnia and Herzegovina.

 

One of the key goals of the conference was the promotion of innovative solutions in the field of traffic and communications, along with the networking of scientific and practical resources. The focus area and working subtitle of this year's conference, “AI Crossroads: Shaping the Future of Transport and Communications”, attracted the attention of eminent international experts in the field of artificial intelligence who presented themselves as keynote speakers.

During the two-day conference, the works of authors from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Croatia, Slovenia, Serbia and Greece were presented. The ATCT conference represents a unique international academic event and a breakthrough for innovation, flexibility, quality and compliance with the needs and requirements of sustainable development of traffic and communication systems.
