Meeting between “Ambassador of the University” - Prof. Dr. Birgül Çolakoğlu and UNSA Rector Prof. Dr. Rifat Škrijelj

Prof. Dr. Birgül Çolakoğlu, head of the design department at the Faculty of Architecture at the Istanbul Technical University visited the University of Sarajevo on Tuesday, 17 July 2018, where she met with Rector Prof. Dr. Rifat Škrijelj and Vice-Rector for Research, Prof. Dr. Dženana Husremović. The meeting was also attended by Prof. Dr. Adnan Pasic, Faculty of Architecture, who for many years, through various projects, cooperates with professor Çolakoğlu. Prof. Çolakoğlu in 2011 was awarded “Ambassador of the University” title for the promotion of the University of Sarajevo at the international level.
At the meeting they discussed the successful cooperation between the Istanbul Technical University and the University of Sarajevo since 2010, when an Agreement on Academic Cooperation has been signed. Prof. Çolakoğlu pointed out that the cooperation with colleagues from the Faculty of Architecture started in 1999 through the realization of numerous workshops, seminars and conferences, and that her continuous support is of great importance to the Faculty of Architecture. Special attention was paid to the possibilities of intensifying cooperation through the exchange of students and teachers; Professors Çolakoğlu and Pašić presented the idea of launching the initiative on Redesigning the UNSA Campus and the preparation of diploma papers on this subject in the next academic year at the Faculty of Architecture at the Istanbul Technical University.
Rector Škrijelj assessed the very important initiative presented and emphasized the commitment to strengthening cooperation between the University of Sarajevo and the Istanbul Technical University.
