Through a comprehensive literature review of this insufficiently investigated area, this review embraces a diverse spectrum of topics, dissecting their significance and practical implications. Furthermore, the present study bridges existing research gaps and charts a new trajectory, uniquely positioned to pivot from conventional catalyst approaches to the promising realm of CQDs. This study also encapsulates the characteristic properties of CQD providing a guidance of a new era of sustainable energy solutions.
