The first general meeting of the ERASMUS+ CBHE MAGNET project
The first general meeting of the ERASMUS+ CBHE MAGNET project was held from August 31 - September 2, 2023 in the premises of “LOGOS” University College, Tirana, Albania.
In the framework of the three-year project MAnagerial and GoverNance Enhancement through Teaching (MAGNET) ERASMUS-EDU-2022-CBHE-STRAND-1 (101083006) the Balkan Network of University Pedagogy - BALKANETUP will be established and starting its operation.
The importance of University Pedagogy was presented through the MAGNET Project, which is co-funded by the European Union and with the coordinating institution the Democritus University of Thrace, Alexandroupolis, Greece. The project is implemented by 12 universities from 8 countries of the Western Balkans. Each partner university will establish Center for teaching and learning for academic staff in HEIs, and to build the BALKANETUP network, to broaden cooperation and achieve higher connectivity between higher education institutions in the Balkan region.
On behalf of the University of Sarajevo, the meeting was attended by the vice-rector prof. Dr. Dušanka Bošković, project manager, vice-rector prof. Dr. Dženana Husremović, and Prof. Dr. Amra Kapo, and they presented the activities on the establishment of the digiedu.unsa.ba platform for the development of digital pedagogical competencies of teachers, as well as the plan for the establishment of an Office to support the professional development of University of Sarajevo staff. Through the activities of this Office, the University of Sarajevo will be involved in the work of the BALKANETUP network.
Representatives of the Democritus University of Thrace attended the meeting in Tirana online, as their attendance was prevented due to the mega-fires in Thrace, Greece. On this occasion, we would like to express our support to our colleagues at the Democritus University of Thrace and hope that the Thrace region will successfully recover from the consequences of the fire.
