The UNSA Faculty of Economics again received AACSB accreditation and thus confirmed its place among the best in the world

AMERICAN ACCREDITATION HOUSE AWARDED UNSA FACULTY OF ECONOMICS FOR THE SECOND TIME THE INSTITUTIONAL ACCREDITATION FOR QUALITY FOR A MAXIMUM PERIOD OF 5 YEARS

In February 2021, the Faculty of Economics in Sarajevo (EFSA) was officially re-accredited by the institutional AACSB accreditation, granted by the American accreditation company The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (www.aacsb.edu), a leading institution for improving the quality of education globally. EFSA is the first and only AACSB accredited higher education institution in Bosnia and Herzegovina. With this recognition, EFSA has maintained its position within the community of five percent (5%) of the highest quality higher education institutions in the field of economics and business worldwide.

The AACSB accredited EFSA first in 2015, and the re-accreditation was preceded by a five-year process of improving key areas - education and learning, research and program/curriculum quality.

From 1 to 3 November, a three-member AACSB team made up of deans from renowned colleges around the world held final online sessions in the final phase of the reaccreditation process with employees, students and business community representatives. The aim of these sessions was to check the involvement of all target groups in the process of meeting a large number of standards related to key areas of the institution: strategic management of the institution and innovation, curriculum/assurance of learning objectives, and standards applicable to all participants in the institution’s processes.

AACSB accreditation requires a continuous commitment to achieving the highest quality standards and continuous improvement of the programs offered by the higher education institution. Once accredited, the institution goes through a re-accreditation process every 5 years to ensure continued commitment to demanding AACSB quality standards. AACSB standards are considered to be the most rigorous in the world in terms of the required level of quality of work of the entire institution.

Acquiring AACSB accreditation is the highest international achievement for higher education institutions offering programs in business, economics and accounting sciences in the world. This accreditation is especially important because it enables the Faculty of Economics in Sarajevo to cooperate with prestigious institutions outside Bosnia and Herzegovina, and represents a path of international quality and improvement of the process according to world standards.
