Bayan Prize awarded for first place in creative expression in Arabic
At the international competition of the World Islamic Organization for Education, Science and Culture (ICESCO) based in the capital of the Kingdom of Morocco, for the "Bayan" award in creative expression in Arabic for individuals and educational institutions from around the world whose mother tongue is not Arabic, students of Islamic Sciences UNSA won an enviable first place. A diligent student team consisting of Senahid Hamidović, Erna Kukuljac, hfz. Eldar Ćatibušić, Ajdin Halilić, Mujesira Neimarlija, Amina Arnaut, hfz. Fatima Bosnić, coordinated by Hilmi Sherbi, worked diligently during the month of July 2020 on the realization of her project entitled "Need is the basis of invention". The presenting role of the text and video performance was presented in the most beautiful way by the third year student of the Theological Program of the Faculty of Islamic Sciences, Riad Subašić, and Almedin Karić made a very successful recording and editing of a five-minute video on the streets of Sarajevo. The mentor role in this project was played by Prof. Dr. Zehra Alispahić.
The final video performance of Riad Subašić, a Faculty of Islamic Sciences student, was assessed by the ICESCO Commission for the Evaluation of Entries as the best in the category of students from the non-Arabic speaking area. The explanation of the Commission states that the winning work was characterized by quality in preparation, design and artistic direction, and attention to educational content.
The first prize winners of the Competition received valuable cash prizes which were to be presented to them at the ICESCO headquarters in the Kingdom of Morocco. Due to the existing epidemiological situation and the inability to travel, ICESCO forwarded cash prizes to the winners. On Friday, 8 January 2021, at a ceremony organized in the Dean's Office, Faculty of Islamic Sciences, Dean, Prof. Dr. Zuhdija Hasanović, in the presence of the professor of the Faculty, presented the student Riad Subašić and other members of the team with a cash prize in the amount of two thousand US dollars, which arrived from ICESCO.
This is a great recognition for our entire Islamic community and especially for the UNSA Faculty of Islamic Sciences and the Department of Qur'anic Philology. At the same time, this news is a confirmation of the long-term successful cooperation between the Islamic Community in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Islamic Organization for Education, Science and Culture (ICESCO).
