“National Treasure from the NUBBiH Collection” Exhibition

On the occasion of the National Day of Awareness of Libraries in Bosnia and Herzegovina 2020, the National and University Library of Bosnia and Herzegovina as a partner institution of the University of Sarajevo organized an exhibition entitled "National Treasure from the NUBBiH Collection" on 30 October 2020. The exhibition was opened by Dr. Ismet Ovčina, Director of the National and University Library of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The celebration of the National Awareness Day of Libraries in Bosnia and Herzegovina 2020 at the University of Sarajevo is realized as a continuation of activities from the ERASMUS + Capacity Building in Higher Education (CBHE) project – “Library Network Support Services (LNSS): Modernizing libraries in Western Balkan countries through staff development and reforming library services.”

The exhibition “National Treasure from the NUBBiH Collections” presents the most valuable examples of materials from the Special Collections: manuscripts, old and rare books, materials from the cartographic and graphic collection. The exhibition was prepared by collection managers Muamera Smajić, Teufik Osmanović and Stela Viteškić.

On 2 July 2020, the special collections of the National and University Library of Bosnia and Herzegovina were declared a National Monument of Bosnia and Herzegovina by a decision of the Commission to Protect National Monuments.
