Federica Mogherini, College of Europe Rector Visits the University of Sarajevo: Discussions on Cooperation and Opportunities for Students

The University of Sarajevo had the honor of hosting Federica Mogherini, Rector of the prestigious College of Europe and former High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and Vice-President of the European Commission. During her visit, Rector Mogherini met with representatives of the University: Prof. Dr. Kemal Durić, Vice-Rector for International Cooperation, Prof. Dr. Dženana Husremović, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs and Student Affairs, Prof. Dr. Naris Pojskić, Scientific Advisor, Vice-Rector for Scientific Research, Prof. M.A. Arma Tanović-Branković, Vice-Rector for Arts, Artistic Research, Culture and Sports, Prof. Dr. Sead Turčalo, Faculty of Political Sciences Dean, and Prof. Dr. Damir Kapidžić from the same Faculty.

Possible forms of cooperation, initiatives and projects that would strengthen ties between the University of Sarajevo and the College of Europe and open up new opportunities for students were discussed. The possibility of signing an agreement on academic cooperation between the College of Europe and the University of Sarajevo was also discussed.

The University of Sarajevo Vice-Rectors presented the work and development of the University, as well as educational and research programs and projects, while Rector Mogherini presented the programs of the College of Europe, with an emphasis on opportunities in terms of education, research and professional development for students and academic staff from Bosnia and Herzegovina.

After the meeting, Rector Mogherini visited the UNSA Faculty of Political Sciences, where she addressed students and teaching staff, where she spoke about the importance of education in promoting European values ​​and improving international cooperation, and presented opportunities for BiH students through the programs of the College of Europe.

This visit opened the door to future joint initiatives and potential for academic mobility between the University of Sarajevo and the College of Europe, especially for those who wish to expand their knowledge in the field of European integration and international relations.
