University of Sarajevo hosts Director of King Baudouin Foundation - TRAIN program exceeds expectations

On 23 October 2024, Dr. Stefan Schӓfers, Director of the King Baudouin Foundation (KBF) from Brussels, Belgium, visited the University of Sarajevo.
Dr. Schӓfers had a meeting with Vice-Rector for Research, Prof. Dr. Naris Pojskić, Scientific Advisor, and M. Sc. Jasmina Gradaščević-Pleh, Head of the TRAIN BiH Project.
From 2013 to 2018, the King Baudouin Foundation financially supported the implementation of the TRAIN program at the University of Sarajevo, and then, from 2018 to the present, it has focused its support on cooperation with all public universities in Bosnia and Herzegovina on the development of a framework for professional development of academic staff modeled on the TRAIN Program of the University of Sarajevo.
Vice-Rector Pojskić expressed his gratitude to Dr. Schӓfers for his long-term support in the implementation of the TRAIN program, thanks to which more than 500 members of the academic staff of the University of Sarajevo in associate and teaching positions have undergone this training.
The program aims to strengthen teaching and research competencies, and Dr. Schӓfers emphasized that the program at the University of Sarajevo has exceeded his expectations in terms of sustainability and that he is proud of the achieved results.
In the continuation of the conversation, Vice-Rector Pojskić emphasized the specificities of the integrated University of Sarajevo, and emphasized active participation in the activities of the Rectors' Forum of Southeast Europe and the Western Balkans. Dr. Schӓfers expressed special interest in the possibilities of regional cooperation in the field of research, and opened the possibility of continuing cooperation and support from the Foundation in this matter.
