Two-day workshop “Enhancing Language Learning and Teaching through Action Research Communities for Language Teachers” held at the University of Sarajevo - Faculty of Philosophy

In the period from February 13 to February 16 2024,  ECML Training and Consultancy for Member States 2024 was held at the invitation of the European Centre for Modern Languages in Graz, Austria. A total of 37 participants and 6 teams from Great Britain, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Austria, Italy, Norway, Armenia, France, Germany, Sweden, Belgium, Iceland, Estonia, Switzerland, Hungary, Czech Republic, Cyprus, the Netherlands, Serbia, Montenegro, Latvia, Greece, Poland and North Macedonia took part in this event. During the plenary presentations and meetings, some of which were organised in a hybrid format, the project team from the Department of English at the University of Sarajevo - Faculty of Philosophy, prof. dr. Larisa Kasumagić-Kafedžić, prof. dr. Nejla Kalajdžisalihović and prof. dr. Lejla Mulalić, presented the project within the research activity "Action Research" and the content of the two-day seminar and workshop “Enhancing Language Learning and Teaching through Action Research Communities for Language Teachers” for English language teachers in the Sarajevo Canton, which was held at the Faculty of Philosophy in Sarajevo (October 4 and 5 2024) by experts from the European Centre for Modern Languages (ECML), dr. Christine Lechner (Austria) and dr. Angela Gallagher-Brett (UK) with the support of the project team for Bosnia and Herzegovina, Faculty of Philosophy of the University of Sarajevo and the Society for the Advancement of Applied Linguistics in Bosnia and Herzegovina (SAALinBiH) as well as the institutional support of the Ministry of Civil Affairs and the Ministry of Education of the Sarajevo Canton. At the beginning of the two-day seminar, the participants were weclomed by prof. dr. Larisa Kasumagić-Kafedžić, on behalf of the project team, Dragana Vujanović, Ministry of Civil Affairs, doc. dr. Minka Džanko,  Vice Dean for Scientific Research and International Academic Cooperation prof. dr. Selma Đuliman, Head of the Department for English Language and Literature. In this way, the successful cooperation with the European Centre for Modern Languages (ECML) continues, realised through the application, presentation and implementation of scientific research projects in practice and other activities relevant for professional and further training.
