2nd BESTSDI Summer School held in Split, Croatia
As part of execution of Erasmus+ project BESTSDI (Western Balkans Academic Education
Evolution and Professional’s Sustainable Training for Spatial Data Infrastructures) which partners in execution are 11 universities from the Western Balkans region (partner countries) and 5 universities from program countries, Belgium, Germany, Macedonia and Croatia, coordinated by University of Zagreb (Faculty of Geodesy), from June 26 – 30, on Civil Engineering, Architecture and Geodesy Faculty of University of Split the 2nd Summer School has been held. On this five-day training workshop, which gathered 50 participants, example lectures from Spatial Data Infrastructure curriculum developed in frame of the project have been presented for three modules (Basic, Advanced and Applicative). The developed curriculum will be implemented by the partner country partners (Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, Montenegro and Serbia) in their study programmes on 15 faculties during the coming academic year 2018/2019. Developed content will become part of existing courses, new elective or obligatory courses, respectively study programmes, dependent on study and institution profile since the project has included faculties which run study programmes on agriculture, architecture, civil engineering, geodesy, geoinformatics, geography, geology & mining, forestry, IT & computer sciences and technical sciences.
Achieving this, the set project goals planned for realization till mid of the project have been accomplished. This has been included in Mid-term report which has been submitted to the Education, Audio-visual and Culture Executive Agency (EACEA) of European Commission.
