UNSA: Presentation of Elettra Sincrotrone Trieste educational programs
The presentation of educational programs for the Western Balkans at the Elettra Sincrotrone Trieste in within the radiation training field (SYRTEP-WB) and internships (SYRIP-WB), doctoral and postdoctoral fellowships in the field of synchrotron radiation and application will be held on 18 February 2020 in 9:30 in the University of Sarajevo Rectorate.
This event aims to foster scientific cooperation between Western Balkan countries through the training of researchers at the doctoral and postdoctoral levels. The meeting will showcase the possibilities offered by Elettra and the free electron laser Fermi@Elettra in Trieste, Italy, as well as the opportunities opened by SYRTEP-WB and SYRIP-WB.
Both initiatives, SYRTEP-WB and SYRIP-WB, aim to support young scientists active in the fields of materials science, physics, engineering and life sciences. SYRTEP-WB and SYRIP-WB will offer fellowships to PhD and PhD students, encouraging them to master synchrotron radiation techniques by applying them to their specific research interests.
The event is organized by Elettra Sincrotrone Trieste in cooperation with the Embassy of Italy in BiH, the Ministry of Civil Affairs of BiH and the University of Sarajevo.
Elettra Sincrotrone Trieste is an international multidisciplinary research center operating as a user facility, featuring a 2.0/2.4 GeV third generation synchrotron light source (Elettra), a free electron laser (FERMI@Elettra) and various support laboratories.
