Young scientists/researchers of the UNSA Faculty of Pharmacy holders of the project “Analysis of potential biomarkers in early diagnosis, monitoring the status and outcome of patients with COVID-19”
Additional knowledge related to early diagnosis and assessment of the severity of the clinical picture of COVID-19 patients will be created at the University of Sarajevo - Faculty of Pharmacy thanks to the Ministry of Science, Higher Education and Youth of Sarajevo Canton, provided through the Co-financing program bearers of young scientists/researchers, through a project called “Analysis of potential biomarkers in early diagnosis, monitoring the status and outcome of patients with COVID-19”, and under the leadership of Prof. Dr. Tamer Bego.
The results of the research will provide answers to questions about the importance and connection of genetic mutations and their connection with the severity of the clinical picture of COVID-19 patients, but also an important answer about the stability of antibodies and immune response of patients in different time frames.
Within the project, an automatic immunochemical analyzer was procured as one of the key pieces of equipment for project implementation, and on 1 December 2021, training for members of the project team on the use of the device was held at the University of Sarajevo - Faculty of Pharmacy.
The training was attended by employees of the Department of Pharmaceutical Biochemistry and Laboratory Diagnostics, University of Sarajevo - Faculty of Pharmacy, doctoral students and students of integrated pharmacy, who through this project and with the use of highly sophisticated equipment realize their doctoral dissertations and numerous final theses, but also have the opportunity to improve their knowledge and skills of laboratory work.
