Visit of the delegation of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the Department International Cooperation, University of Sarajevo
In order to strengthen cooperation between higher education institutions of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the University of Sarajevo, the delegation of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran visited the University of Sarajevo Department International Cooperation on Thursday, 27 May 2021. On behalf of the Embassy, the Deputy Ambassador Mr. Jaber Vasigh came, while he was welcomed in front of the University of Sarajevo by Prof. Dr. Enita Nakaš, Vice Rector for International Cooperation, Dr. Jasna Bošnjović, Head of the International Cooperation Service and Adnan Rahimić, MSc, Senior Expert Associate for International Cooperation.
After the introductory presentation of the University of Sarajevo, they discussed the current political, economic and cultural cooperation between the Islamic Republic of Iran and Bosnia and Herzegovina, which is at the highest level, and expressed readiness to achieve the same level of cooperation when it comes to education. In the past, the University of Sarajevo had several forms of cooperation with higher education institutions in Iran, and currently two agreements are active: with the University of Tehran (since 1977) and the Institute for Humanities and Cultural Studies in Tehran (since 2018).
In order to conclude new partnerships, various forms of cooperation and connecting the academic communities of Iran and BiH, the focus is on the exchange of students, teaching, scientific and non-teaching staff of the medical group of studies.
