UNSA student support: Cooperation agreements signed with four NGOs, KJU Family Counseling KS and Homework HUB

The signing of the Agreement on Cooperation between the University of Sarajevo and four non-governmental organizations, KJU Family Counseling KS and Homework HUB was held on Friday, 3 July, 2020 at the University of Sarajevo Rectorate.

The agreements were signed by Prof. Dr. Rifat Škrijelj, Rector, Mrs. Anka Izetbegović, Association “Duga” Sarajevo Executive Director, Mr. Mirza Rastoder, Director of Homework d.o.o. Sarajevo, Mrs. Senada Bosno, KJU "Family Counseling" Director, Mrs. Melisa Koradžija, Foundation “Krila nade” Sarajevo representative, Mrs. Almira Hasić President of the Association "Independent Step" and Mrs. Sevdija Kujović, President of the Association "Life with Down Syndrome of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina “.

During today's meeting, it was pointed out that University of Sarajevo, through its Office for Student Support, will include the signatories of the agreement in its projects and project activities and consider them a partner in the realization of common goals and implementation of future projects.

The signed agreements will, among other things, provide all students, with a special focus on students with disabilities, support in personal and professional development through personal-oriented planning and individual coaching sessions, peer group support, as well as opportunities for volunteering and study support. Also, students will be provided with psychosocial support in the form of individual work with professionals, as well as support in learning through practicing learning techniques and providing instructional classes in mathematics, physics and English. Students will also be able to attend workshops and activities, work will continue on activities for the adaptation of literature for students with visual impairments, and group and individual professional support for students with disabilities.
The signing of the agreement will also ensure the implementation of the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, and the harmonization of legal acts with the Convention.

The signing of the Agreement was also attended by Prof. Dr. Lejla Kafedžić, head of the Office for Student Support, and members of the Office team: Prof. Dr. Snježana Šušnjara, Doz. Dr. Lejla Osmić and associates Amina Dumanjić and Amina Ribić.
