Traditional and international 14th Scholarship Fair is held at the University of Sarajevo

The University of Sarajevo and its International Relations Office organized the 14th Scholarship Fair (UNSA Study Expo), held today at the Rectorate of the University of Sarajevo.

The Fair was opened by Prof. Dr. Tarik Zaimović, Rector of the University of Sarajevo, who expressed his satisfaction with the organization of this event, emphasizing the importance of gathering various stakeholders in the field of education and international cooperation. He highlighted that the Scholarship Fair has become a key annual event for all those seeking new opportunities in education and international cooperation.

Rector Zaimović specifically emphasized the collaboration with the Embassy of the Republic of France, the French Institute, and Campus France, who were co-organizers of the Fair this year. According to the rector, their support has strengthened the connections between countries and opened doors to exceptional educational opportunities for students.

Concluding his speech, Prof. Dr. Zaimović expressed his belief that this year's Scholarship Fair would provide students and the academic community with a wealth of information and opportunities for new partnerships, helping them realize their dreams of studying abroad. Finally, he officially declared the 14th Scholarship Fair open.

H.E. Mr. François Delmas, Ambassador of France to Bosnia and Herzegovina, stated that the Scholarship Fair is an important and increasingly successful event in university life. France has a strong presence at this fair, which, as Ambassador Delmas noted, is a result of the excellent relationship between the University and the Embassy.

"Today is a day of opportunities, both individual and collective. Let's seize them! Let’s seize them, as many of us have had the experience of spending part of our studies abroad. It’s a personal experience that shapes us," emphasized Ambassador Delmas, adding:

"Let's make use of today’s opportunities because university cooperation is at the core of European history. Europe has been built for centuries through intellectual collaboration, supported by universities. And it continues today. This is why we support cooperation in European studies so that you, here in Bosnia and Herzegovina, can contribute to the Europe we wish to build together," stated Ambassador Delmas.

In a media statement, Prof. Dr. Kemal Durić, Vice-Rector for International Relations at the University of Sarajevo, noted that the Scholarship Fair is a unique event in Bosnia and Herzegovina as it brings together institutions, universities, embassies, and governmental and non-governmental organizations in one place, offering visitors the opportunity to learn about study and professional development opportunities.

"This is a great opportunity for all visitors – high school students, university students, doctoral candidates… They have the chance to get first-hand information about scholarships, training opportunities, and professional residencies in all fields," emphasized Vice-Rector Durić.

Each year, as part of various programs like Erasmus+, 300 to 400 Bosnian students go abroad for training, and just as many come to the University of Sarajevo, which, as he mentioned, confirms that the University of Sarajevo is a serious partner.

Benjamin Velić, a student of the Faculty of Pharmacy at the University of Sarajevo, participated in an exchange under the Erasmus+ program and spent part of his studies at the University of Istanbul. He noted that the Scholarship Fair provides students with an opportunity to learn about the availability of scholarships and forms of financial support.

This unique event in Bosnia and Herzegovina was organized in cooperation with the Embassy of the Republic of France, the French Institute, and Campus France. The Fair brought together representatives from universities in various countries, embassies, and governmental and non-governmental organizations, offering visitors the opportunity to learn about study, exchange, internship, and professional development opportunities.
