The Minister of Education of Sarajevo Canton and the UNSA Rector signed A Cooperation Agreement
Minister of Education of Sarajevo Canton Naida Hota-Muminović and University of Sarajevo Rector Prof. Dr. Rifat Škrijelj signed the Cooperation Agreement today.
The goal of signing the Agreement is to strengthen and improve cooperation, joint advocacy of the right to quality upbringing and education with the aim of enabling the full participation of students with difficulties in all aspects of society, recognition of the Student Support Office of the University of Sarajevo as a center for support for users (children, students, parents and employees of educational institutions) in the field of inclusive education and assistive technology, preparation and implementation of research aimed at determining the state and improving the quality of education, promotion of lifelong learning, cooperation in the creation and publication of scientific publications, professional literature and teaching materials.
Minister Hota-Muminović pointed out that in her work she pays special attention to professional recommendations, that is, recommendations and guidelines for the improvement of all segments of educational work that communicates with representatives of the academic community.
“This agreement represents a step towards the establishment of more intensive cooperation between the relevant ministry and the academic community, and especially with the teaching faculties, whose support is necessary for the Ministry in the current, challenging times, both for society as a whole and for the educational process,” said Minister Hota-Muminović.
Rector Škrijelj said that the Agreement is of inestimable importance for the University of Sarajevo, expressing satisfaction that it was finalized during his mandate. With thanks to Minister Hota-Muminović for the exceptional support and cooperation during the mandate, Rector Škrijelj added that the Agreement resolves long-standing open issues related to the promotion, development and improvement of education at all levels, which also provides support to the Student Support Office, which is also initiated this agreement.
“Unfortunately, we are faced with a decreasing number of students in teaching professions, and this problem is not only ours - it is present in the entire region and even at the global level. However, I believe that we should take concrete measures so that young people recognize the value of teaching invited and decided on this career. This problem can only be solved at the level of the founders of the University and schools through the policy of encouraging enrollment in teaching faculties”, emphasized Rector Škrijelj, and added that the Ministry and the University could contribute to this by adopting measures such as scholarships, and study contracts that guarantee an internship and then employment after completing the studies.
The signed Agreement enters into force on the day of signing and will be in force for an indefinite period of time.
