Student visit to the Police Bodies of Bosnia and Herzegovina Coordination Directorate

On 28 December 2021, second year students of the Faculty of Criminalistics, Criminology and Security Studies, University of Sarajevo, within the subject Professional Practice 3, visited the Police Bodies of Bosnia and Herzegovina Coordination Directorate together with Senior Assistant Nerma Halilović-Kibrić and Assistant Kenan Hodžić.

The Directorate has a key role when it comes to security in Bosnia and Herzegovina, especially in the areas of domestic and international police cooperation and protection of protected persons and facilities. During the visit, the students had the opportunity within the first lecture by the representatives of the Sector for Coordination and Cooperation, Mr. Amir Ćorić, to get acquainted with the organization, competencies, tasks and duties of the DKPT BiH with the aspect of cooperation with the police and other bodies.

In the continuation of the visit, the students visited the Operations Center and got acquainted with the most important activities and operational capacities, as well as video surveillance and radio communication systems. The exchange of information and data on all security-interesting events 24 hours a day is the key basis for improving communication, coordination and cooperation of all police bodies in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Representative of the Sector for Security of VIPs and Facilities, Mr. Đorde Blagojević through a presentation and practical demonstrations from the jobs and tasks of the sector of the same name, brought closer to the students the models of protection, protective formations, reaction procedures and the equipment at their disposal. In this regard, the students also attended a tactical demonstration exercise conducted by police officers who directly protect VIPs.

In the following, the representatives of the Department for Cooperation with INTERPOL and EUROPOL, Mr. Ismar Brkić and Mr. Vladimir Skarić introduced the students to the affairs and tasks of the NCB INTERPOL and EUROPOL, as well as regional forms of criminal cooperation.

Successfully realized student visit is of great benefit to students and in that name we express special gratitude to the leadership of the Directorate for Coordination of Police Bodies of Bosnia and Herzegovina, headed by the director Mr. Mirsad Vilić and lecturers who professionally and expertly introduced students to the jobs and activities they perform in a direct and practical way.
