University of Sarajevo and Bit Alliance signed a Cooperation Memorandum
A Memorandum on Cooperation was signed between the University of Sarajevo and the Bit Alliance Association for Information Technology on Wednesday, 14 February 2018. Signatories, Prof. Dr. Rifat Škrijelj, University of Sarajevo Rector and Mr. Armin Talić, Bit Alliance general manager emphasized the importance of activities to be jointly implemented by the University of Sarajevo and Bit Alliance. As a key activity, the launch of a two-year IT study program at the UNSA Faculties of Electrical Engineering and Natural Sciences and Mathematics was pointed out.
Recalling that cooperation between the Bit Alliance and UNSA units has already been present in the past years, Rector Škrijelj stated "The signing of the Memorandum of Cooperation and the implementation of activities foreseen in the Memo is one of the steps in bringing closer the UNSA to labor market, respectively companies that build their excellence on the EU principles and try to catch up with Europe. The accession of Bosnia and Herzegovina to the European Union can only be based on the fulfillment of conditions set before Bosnia and Herzegovina and its institutions." He also emphasized that the companies affiliated to Bit Alliance are supporting the University of Sarajevo in the future for the practice and employment of university students.
Bit Alliance gathers over 30 software companies that are recognized on the labor market in BiH, and according to the quality of work in the world, and general manager Mr. Armin Talić pointed out that the key problem of the software industry in BiH is the lack of staff.
Since the signed Memo is promoting and insisting on the integration of information technologies into educational processes, the signing ceremony was attended by, besides the Rector Škrijelj and general manager Talić: Academician Dr. Dejan Milošević, UNSA Council for Science and Art Chairman, Prof. Drs. Dženana Husremović, Vice-Rector for Research, Maida Čohodar Husić, Vice-Rector for Quality, Mustafa Memić, Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics Dean, Samim Konjicija, Faculty of Electrical Engineering Dean, Vedad Silajdžić, Faculty of Economics Vice-Dean for Student and Normative Issues, Esmir Pilav, Head of Mathematics Department, Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics, Mr. Haris Memić, Symphony founder and director and Chairman of the Bit Alliance Board of Directors Alliance, Dr. Muamer Bezdrob, PING director and co-founder, and Mrs. Sumeja Čakalović, Bit Alliance associate.
