Academician Dragi Gjorgiev, Director of the Institute of National History of Macedonia in his review of the book, among other things, wrote:

“Taking into account that no large and intensive migrations can be limited even in ethnic, and even less in geographical boundaries, then it can be said that this work by dr. Ramize Smajić goes beyond the boundaries of the Bosnian Eyalet, which is the main area of research, and refers to a much wider geographical and more diverse ethnic area, which gives the work an international dimension and represents an excellent predisposition for it to be an important and inevitable reference for all Ottomanists who deal with migration flows in the Ottoman context, especially on Balkan and European soil at the turn of the 17th and 18th centuries.”

In his review of the book, Dr. Senad Hasanagić from Mostar wrote:

“Thanks to Professor Ramiza Smajić, this work also contributed to greater knowledge about an exodus in the heart of Europe in which Muslims disappeared from Hungary, Slavonia, Lika, Dalmatia, Krbava and Boka Kotorska at the end of the 17th century. This exodus, which due to its real consequences and intent can be characterized as genocide, should be named as a historical event, investigated more thoroughly and connected, properly characterized. From those events, a mosaic should be assembled, a significant part of which is related to migrations in Bosnia and the situations in various social aspects that have arisen as a result of these migrations. One significant part of that mosaic is provided by this book. Thus, at the same time, a contribution was made to a better understanding of the historical continuity of the meeting of civilizations, but also of destruction and persecution, from the defeat at Vienna to Srebrenica.”
