Ceremonial opening of the final symposium of the Erasmus+ project “Innovating quality assessment tools for pharmacy studies in Bosnia and Herzegovina” (IQPharm)
On 1 December 2023, the Final Symposium of the Erasmus+ project “Innovating quality assessment tools for pharmacy studies in Bosnia and Herzegovina” (IQPharm), whose coordinator is the University of Sarajevo, was opened.
At the opening ceremony of the Final Symposium, the UNSA Rector, Prof. Dr. Rifat Škrijelj, Dean of the UNSA Faculty of Pharmacy, Prof. Dr. Fahir Bečić, adviser to the Federal Minister of Health Zoran Šantić, Prof. Dr, adviser to the Federal Minister of Education and Science, Prof. Dr. Seid Masnica, Minister of Science, Higher Education and Youth of Sarajevo Canton, Prof. Dr. Adna Mesihović, Deputy Mayor of Sarajevo, Mr. Samir Avdić, and Ms. Lejla Kapidžić in front of the Erasmus+ office in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Also, in front of the partner universities, the dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy of the University of Mostar, Prof. Dr. Ivica Brizić, Vice Dean for Research at the Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Tuzla, Prof. Dr. Aida Smajlović, Vice Dean for Pharmacy, Faculty of Medicine, University of Split, Prof. Dr. Darko Modun, Head of the Pharmacy study program at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Banja Luka, Prof. Dr. Žarko Gagić. Project coordinator Prof. Dr. Tamer Bego then held a plenary lecture where he gave an overview of the IQPharm project and the achieved results.
IQPharm is a project of national importance focused on raising the quality and modernization of pharmacy studies at public universities in Bosnia and Herzegovina. After three years of implementation of the activities of the IQPharm project, the results of this three-year work and the impact of the project on the education of pharmacists in Bosnia and Herzegovina will be presented at the Final Symposium, which will be held from 1 to 3 December 2023 at the Hills Hotel in Sarajevo, through lectures, but also a series of workshops and panel discussions.
The symposium is a hybrid event, very interactive, since the idea of the symposium is not only to present the results, but also to actively involve the participants in the changes, to practically show what they mean, to discuss them and exchange opinions, both with the participants who are present live, and with to those following the event online.
