11th Scholarship Fair Opened - A unique event of its kind in Bosnia and Herzegovina
On 19 October 2021, the 11th Scholarship Fair was officially opened, organized by the International Cooperation Service, University of Sarajevo in cooperation with the Embassy of the Republic of France, Campus France and the French Institute in BiH.
French Ambassador to BiH H.E. Christine Toudic said in her welcome speech that as the sixth country in the world in terms of the number of foreign students, France this year had over 370,000 foreign students, including 204 students from Bosnia and Herzegovina, enrolled in one of 3,500 French higher education institutions. She also stated that France is the sixth country in terms of the number of students going to other countries, but it is also the first country in terms of the number of students who achieve mobility within the Erasmus + program.
The 11th Scholarship Fair was opened by a speech by Prof. Dr. Enita Nakaš, Vice-Rector for International Cooperation, who addressed on behalf of the University of Sarajevo Rector, Prof. Dr. Rifat Škrijelj, emphasizing that internationalization is one of the pillars of the University of Sarajevo, but also education in general.
Mr. Adnan Rahimić, Senior Expert Associate for International Cooperation, pointed out: “Recognizing the importance of student mobility, teachers and associates in Europe and beyond, the International Cooperation Service of the University of Sarajevo is a successful organizer of the” Scholarship Fair “- the only event of its kind in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Herzegovina, which aims to bring together all institutions that award and/or administer scholarships or award other types of financial support for studying in BiH and abroad, and to enable them to present their scholarship and financial support programs and to give visitors all the information about scholarship opportunities. further education in BiH or abroad is provided in one place.”
The Eleventh Scholarship Fair will continue on 20 and 21 October 2021, and due to the current epidemiological situation in our country, the Fair will be held online, as follows:
