Faculty of Islamic Sciences Held Promotion of graduates and masters for the academic 2019/2020
In the amphitheater of the Faculty of Islamic Sciences (FIN), University of Sarajevo, on 20 January 2021, a graduation ceremony was held for graduates and masters for the academic year 2019/2020.
A total of 92 graduates and masters completed the last academic year. Nine students obtained a master's degree in the old postgraduate program, and 14 students received a master's degree in Islamic sciences.
In addition to the promotion of the best graduate students, winners of the “Golden Badge” of the University of Sarajevo Erna Kukuljac, Mirza Hasanović and Lamija Aždahić, the winners of the “Silver Badge” Aida Musić, Kamber Kamberi, Ajdin Halilić, Ajla Džagadurov, Vaida Đoković, Amina Arnaut and Amina Imamović were promoted.
The ceremony was attended by Deputy Reis-l-Ulema Enes ef. Ljevaković, Dean of FIN Prof. Dr. Zuhdija Hasanović, University of Sarajevo Rector, Rifat Škrijelj, FIN Vice Deans Dr. Ahmet Alibašić, Dr. Mustafa Hasani, and other professors as well as students.
Due to the pandemic, the ceremony was organized in compliance with all epidemiological measures and was attended by a small number of guests and guests, and the presentation of diplomas was organized in three terms.
The FIN Dean, Prof. Dr. Zuhdija Hasanović congratulated students, professors, parents and the Islamic Community and sent several messages to young people. One of them is to always be constructive and creative, no matter what occupation or job they will be doing tomorrow.
In his address on behalf of the Reis-ul-Ulema, deputy Enes ef. Ljevaković, also a professor at this Faculty, said that those who graduated from FIN are the backbone of numerous institutions and organizational units of the Islamic Community in BiH, and thus significantly influence its work, activities and processes in it.
University of Sarajevo Rector, Prof. Dr. Rifat Škrijelj pointed out that FIN is an educational institution that Muslims from Europe and the world will increasingly choose for the education of religious officials.
The Faculty of Islamic Sciences is the successor of the earliest Islamic educational institutions in Bosnia and Herzegovina, which were established during the Ottoman rule, but also higher education Islamic educational institutions that were established during the Austro-Hungarian rule, Sharia Judicial School or Mekteb-i Nuwwab (1887). and the Higher Islamic Sharia Theological School (1937).
In the former state of Yugoslavia, the Islamic Faculty of Theology (ITF) was founded in 1977, which today is called the Faculty of Islamic Sciences in Sarajevo and has been a full member of the University of Sarajevo since 2013. The faculty has three cycles, among which the first cycle contains three programs: Islamic theology, Islamic religious education and religious pedagogy, and a study program for imams, hatibs and muallims.
