KS Minister of Science, Higher Education and Youth and University of Sarajevo Rector visited Faculties of Dental Medicine, Civil Engineering and Architecture
Drafting of the new Law on Higher Education of KS, reviewing the current situation, recording possible difficulties in the work, and improving cooperation were the reason for organizing the visit of KS Minister of Science, Higher Education and Youth, Prof. Dr. Melika Husić-Mehmedović and University of Sarajevo Rector, Prof. Dr. Rifat Škrijelj to three UNSA organizational units.
Minister Husić-Mehmedović and Rector Škrijelj with Prof. Dr. Arzija Pašalić, President of the Group of Medical Sciences, visited the Faculty of Dental Medicine with Clinics, and then Faculties of Architecture and Civil Engineering.
As Minister Husić Mehmedović pointed out, these are the first visits to the organizational units of the University of Sarajevo in order to see the priorities and problems that need to be solved in the synergy of the University and the Ministry, all with the goal of continuous development of the University of Sarajevo.
The realization of the teaching process, theoretical and practical teaching, spatial capacities and modernization of equipment were just some of the topics of these visits.
The Faculty of Dental Medicine with Clinics, the Faculty of Architecture and the Faculty of Civil Engineering implemented the online teaching regime in record time in the extraordinary circumstances in which higher education found itself at the very beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic. It was pointed out that the teaching process and contacts with students in the online environment have become everyday and give good results, and transformative processes that are unstoppable are enriched every day with new methods, contents and approaches giving new dynamics to higher education.
The visits were also an opportunity to tour the renovated space and equipment at the Faculty of Dentistry with clinics, which improved the working conditions for students and teaching staff and the implementation of curricula, but also created the conditions for further development of the Faculty. At the Faculty of Civil Engineering and Architecture, the realization of the energy efficiency project was highlighted, and the development plans of the faculty were also discussed.
